Takamusu Aiki

On this DVD, Saotome Sensei — a direct student of Aikido’s legendary founder — explains a level of training beyond ordinary Aikido practice: takemusu aiki. At this higher level, attention shifts away from the details of technique to what Saotome Sensei calls “martial situations” and, in particular, to moments of vulnerability that he calls “risk points.” Takemusu aiki training therefore develops the ability to perceive other people clearly and to respond to their movement with definite, appropriate decisions.
